Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge

Take Part in THE Winter Event to Raise Funds for Special Olympics!
Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge, Saturday, January 28. 8am (registration) 1pm or 3pm (plunge), Sandy Point State Park, 1100 E College Pkwy, Annapolis, MD 21401. Be a part of THE event of winter and sign up for the 16th Annual MSP Polar Bear Plunge where, for just $50 in pledges, Plunge participants take a quick dip in the Chesapeake Bay to raise funds for Special Olympics Maryland, the state’s largest year-round organization devoted to sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Anyone can participate! (Under 18 requires parent or guardian signature.) New this year is the Pee Wee Plunge, a New Pint-Sized Plunge that is just right for the youngest plunge fans! The MSP Polar Bear Plunge is excited to introduce a brand-new attraction to the 2012 event - the Pee Wee Plunge! Designed for children ages 8 and under, the Pee Wee Plunge takes place in a shallow kiddie pool that is lightly sprinkled with ice cubes. Participants will wade across in very small groups or individually, providing a less congested (but no less exhilarating!) experience for the pint-sized Plungers with plenty of access for parents. The Pee Wee Plunge is scheduled for 11 a.m. In addition to the main event (the actual Plunge!), participants and spectators alike can enjoy the offerings inside the heated festival tent, including live music, a kids’ corner, displays, a variety of vendors and crafters, carnival games, Plunge souvenirs, and much, much more.
