Teddy Bear Picnic, Aug 6 & 20, Midweek children's matinee departs at 11:30. Bring your teddy bear to enjoy games, songs and stories on the train. Enjoy a one-hour stop at the park for play and lunch. Bring your own lunch; babies under one free. Reservations recommended.
Jesse James Day, Aug 2, 11am, 1 & 3pm. Experience an Old West raid on the train. We supply fake jewels and money for the robbery. Caution! There will be the sound of gunfire.
Mystery Dinner Train, Aug. 9 & 23, 6pm, Live theater “on the rail” presented by professional actors, with an all-you-can-eat buffet supper. Buffet served in a lovely park setting. “Murderous” fun. Adult theme. Train departs from the station at 6:00 p.m. and returns at 8:30. Casual attire. Reservations required.  
Magic Day, Aug. 16. Magician will visit each child with tricks and balloons.
Bubbles in the Breeze, Aug 9 & 30. A favorite with the younger set! Kids get a bottle of bubbles to blow as the train chugs along.

Thrifty Tuesday, Aug 5, 10am–4pm, All Aboard! The B&O offers half-price admission for all visitors the first Tuesday of every month! Visitors can tour many of the Museum's facilities including the 1884 Roundhouse where you can climb aboard a real locomotive and see the most comprehensive collection of American railroad artifacts in the world.
Toddler Time, Aug 6 & 20, 10:30am, Visit the Museum and enjoy story time as you listen to classic railroad children's books. Kiddie train rides are included in the price of admission. Recommended for children between the ages of 2-5.
Turntable Demonstrations,   Aug 9, 11:30am, Ever wonder how the Museum moves locomotives and cars in and out of the 1884 Roundhouse? Watch Museum staff use the turntable to move an historic railcar. Free train rides included in the price of admission.

Murder Mystery Dinner Train, Aug. 16, 5pm, What do a lizard and a bank have in common? Robbery and murder. The Chameleon makes a living robbing banks and then changing identity to ride out of town among the locals. But this time Inspector Wilhelm William has traced the Chameleon’s tracks to Gettysburg where this creature of change is waiting to make his getaway. Act 1 Productions and The Pioneer Lines Scenic Railway have teamed up to bring good, family-friendly fun and “whodunit?” suspense to your riding experience. Don’t dawdle getting your reservations, seats are limited and fill fast.
Ghost Train, Aug. 2, 9, 15, 23, 30, 7pm. Are you a fan of the paranormal? This trip is filled with the hauntings of Gettysburg's past, a history lesson that's sure to send chills down your spine. Join us on a storytelling adventure. Hear tales about our railroad, Gettysburg, and other areas around PA. These stories were written by Mark Nesbitt, renowned author and historian. Your guide is provided by the Ghosts of Gettysburg Candlelight Walking Tours. Approx. 1 hr. 30min.

Sundae Sunday, Aug. 17, 23, 3pm, 2 hrs, Grab your family and neighbors and head on down to the Railroad for a fun ride with a stop on the return trip at the Cone-a-Cabana for a sweet treat.  Strawberry or Chocolate sundaes available. Reservations required.
Hobo Cookout Train, Aug. 23, 4pm, 2 1/2 hrs. They’re heading out the line with chili, hot dogs and marshmallows to cook over an open fire.  Train songs and stories will be shared while we enjoy the beauty of Swatara Creek Valley. Reservations required.
